Hot Toads! Webcam

So you were looking for the Hot Toads! Shrunken Head Cam! and all you can see is a Fuji Apple with a clock stuck to it right? Well, we are having a bit of fun and trying out some of our new toys and kits from Schylling. The clock is powered by the apple! No tricks. It really is!

We will get into the explanation of how it's doing that a little later on when we are done playing with some of the other great toys from Schylling. For now we'll give some kudos to Alessandro Volta (1745-1827) for the discovery of the electric cell.

For those of you who have seen the Pineapple Powered Clock - we had to switch to an orange, an apple, a juice box, and now back to an apple. After running for five weeks on pineapple power, the smell was starting to get to us.

We tried an eggplant, but there wasn't enough moisture in the eggplant to make a good connection. So we are going to let it sit around for a few days and see if it decomposes to the point where it makes some eggplant juice. No, we're not bored. Simply curious. Update - eggplants do not work. VERY messy.

Question is... who wants to see a Shrunken Head made from an apple that is also powering a clock?

Hard to say where the science project begins and the fun ends!

Enjoy!

We did it again! On March 26, 2007 the Hot Toads! Toys Webcam was selected as EarthCam's Top 10 Webcam Worldwide! We're sort of proud of our little achievment. Thank you EarthCam!

It has been six years since the first time we received this award from EarthCam. The first time was March 3, 2000. Since then, the Shrunken Head Webcam has mutated into just the Hot Toads! Toys Webcam. Perhaps someday we'll bring back the Shrunken Head Webcam... but for now, we're just happy with our little science experiment.
